Application Process

To obtain an overflight permit for Bangladesh, you must submit your request to the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB-CAA Dhaka). It's advisable to initiate the application process well in advance, preferably 7 working days before your intended flight date. If your flight necessitates a landing in Bangladesh, you'll need to obtain a landing permit. The landing permit requirements generally include the same documentation as overflight permits, with additional considerations, some documentation are not necessarily required; you just need to keep them ready and valid in case they are needed for the permit application.

When applying for an overflight or landing permit, you might need to provide the following documents:

What to consider when you have a flight over/to Bangladesh

Navigation Fees:

Bangladesh charges navigation fees for overflights. These fees can vary depending on the type of aircraft, route, and duration of the flight. Be prepared to cover these fees as part of the permit application process.

Basis: Maximum take-off weight

  • Over 20,000 but not exceeding 50 000 Kg - USD 100.00

  • Over 50,000 but not exceeding 100,000 Kg - USD 200.00

Landing Charges:

At major international airports:

Aircraft which is over 20,000 kg but not exceeding 50,000 kg - USD 5.00

Landing surcharge: 10% of the charge for each landing or take-off after sunset and before sunrise.

Parking Charges:

For each 24 hours or part thereof, 25% of the landing charge when parking exceeds 6 hours.

Your flight plan and operations must comply with international aviation regulations and agreements. Ensure that your aircraft is equipped with the necessary communication and navigation systems required for safe airspace transit.
